Quantitation Experiment for SPECT system of the XSPECT machine

PURPOSE:

 

To establish a pixel (voxel) intensity-radioactivity level relationship

 

 

METHODS AND MATERIALS:

 

Count rate on detector and hence pixel intensity of SPECT images could serve as a measurement of radioactivity at different position in the imaging field of view. It allows comparison of strength of radioactivity on a relative basis. To quantify the absolute amount of radioactivity it requires calibration of the system against source with known radioactivity. Yet pixel intensity is not only a function of radioactivity, but also a function of different system setting parameter. A planned calibration scheme is required to take such complications into account
